FBSD problem on reboot

Hi all,

When FBSD is rebooted, it goes through the motions of rebooting, until it comes to bringing up the bootloader on the hard drive, then all there is is a black screen - basically it freezes or gets stuck where I have to physically press the on/off button to shutdown the machine, then press the button again to turn on the machine.

I dual boot with linux (slackware/lmde), with the bootloader being lilo run/setup on slackware. There is no eufi, just ordinary bios.

Does anyone know whats happening?

All the best and thank you in advance for any replies/help.

When I used FBSD & Linux, (long time ago), I allowed it to use the BSD boot loader to boot both O/S.

Don't know if that is the problem, but I never had any problems doing it that way.

Thanks for the reply and idea - I will have to look into that, I have seen something of this on the web but will need to investigate.
