00:16:41 mac address is this the ralink product?

Shouldn't it have a gateway address on ifconfig?

Did you try the run way to connect? https://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?run(4)

FreeBSD is not Linux - you will need to read the documentation. googling for answers will only find lots of out of date forums posts, blogs, etc - most of which will be useless.

Ethernet. Claimed by the bge(4) driver.

I've never come across support for soft blocking (rfkill) in any FreeBSD wifi drivers.

It's a ralink 5370, well at least I don't feel so stupid for not being able to get wireless working. Thanks for that,

I've read what I can find through freeBSD documentation and it seems to call for a custom kernel.
