HI everybody. I decided I'd check out what BSD is like. I got OpenBSD and put it on a sparc4c box. After some fuss w/ the install, I finally got it booting o.k. The problem is that everytime I try to use ssh either as a client or daemon, I get thrown into this debug mode, which tells me to run 'trace' and 'ps'.... which I do, but after that, I can't get out. I would like to send a but report, but I also don't know how to save what I'm seeing.
Meanwhile, I started executing different commands from the 'help' menu, and now I can't get out of this 'hangman' game! W.T.F?
Does anybody know how I can get out of hangman/debugger? I'm conecting via serial line.
Well, somehow I am able to ssh into the box now. I didn't change any settings, just had to switch off the power w/ out shutting down. Wierd.
OK, so now I can ssh into the box, but when I try to get in over the serial line with minicom I have trouble. From an xterm, I can give it the username, but when I type in the password, it doesn't recognise the <enter> key for some reason. And when I use minicom from the console, EVERYTHING IS IN UPPERCASE LETTERS, but it will still let me log in.
I have 3.2 on an IPX and it runs fine. I don't use SSH because I found it to be way to slow. I also had some crazy kernel panics when SSHing into the box.
As for connecting via terminal, I found that using 'cu' from another (x86) OpenBSD box worked alot better.
