BSD for OSX?

A friend of mine runs OSX and is looking for an inexpensive drafting program. As OSX is based on BSD, can a BSD drafting program be installed and functional on an OSX machine (non-Intel)?

If so, where can I go to find instructions?

Thanx

You can try compiling from source (you will need X11 installed).

Alternatively, check out either fink or ports for OS X.
