boimetrics > botched login

ive got freebsd 6.1 install on my thinkpad t60, and i wanted to try and get the the fingerprint reader up and running. it got it to work using this in about 20 minutes. the issue is that when i log in i get no shell or anything. apparently a major work load is coming from login, but thats all i can really figure out. i cant run commands, and i had to go in in single user mode to set my /etc/pam.d/system file back to defualt. does someone have this up and running, or has anyone had this same problem?

also, i login on the command line, not via gui.
