Just remember in cases like this to:
- really clean things up (the first 6 lines above)
- then to update the ports tree to the latest versions
- then read if there is anything important in /usr/ports/UPDATING
- install the ports/packages you want.
These things happen usually with ports/packages which are a dependency of a lot of programs, like perl, python and icu.
