3ware Escalade 7506-8 - RAID controller

Has anyone any experience with this card under OpenBSD? Anyone suggest a better P/SATA RAID card for my favorite OS?

It doesn't appear on the supported hardware list. That being said, it might work under the twe(4) driver if it's similar enough to other 3WE cards, or it might have been added and the hardware page wasn't updated. Since this forum has only a few dozen viewers at best, you're more likely to get meaningful feedback by posting to the misc@ mailing list. Hundreds of people read that list regularly and someone may have experience with that particular card.

I know that several of the OpenBSD developers are very fond of the ICP-Vortex cards, but I don't know if any of them are SATA.

I could go PATA/EIDE, too. Sata would just be nicer - I'll hit up the list.
