I just have these days installed HSBD on UFS thru manual partitioning, I'm now always working to boot the HBSD system and finally GRUB is recommended to me for booting the system. But it encounters kernel panic somewhy similar to the screenshot.
It's a motherboard problem! Either acpi or apic is buggy. I assume it is possible to use kernel command line parameters in bsd as one does in Linux. If so, you might like to try some of the ones suggested here.
So I need to back to the USB installer HBSD18.09-CURRENT.amd64.img to copy the kernel command lines to my installed HBSD system. I also don't think that's a BIOS aka hardware issue, where this issue isn't present on booting Trident, TrueOS, Linux systems.

You say you're using GRUB to boot. That means you can add those tags experimentally by hand. Just choose the menu item, press 'e' to edit the command line, then Enter. Whether they'll work on a BSD kernel, I have no idea but it won't cost anything to try.
Linux might well boot where BSD doesn't because it's been designed to be patient with bad acpi implementations.
