Setting up a wireless LAN with YaST2
By Bjerrk

1. Intro/mini-FAQ:

Q: who does this apply to?
A: Any Linux user with a desire to use WLAN USB adapters, and with access to a recent YaST version.

Q: Which devices has this procedure been tested on?
A: Only the Netgear MA111 adapter connected to a Netgear MR814v2 router, but from what I'm told the procedure is just about the same for all USB WLAN adapters.

Q: Aha! You're using YaST? So It's a SuSE-only guide!
A: No it's not. YaST is available for other Linux distros/platforms too. A good example is YaST4Debian, which is available right here: http://yast4debian.alioth.debian.org/

Q. Let's get going?
A: Let's do.

2. Prerequisites:

A WLAN USB adapter.
A recent version of YaST2 or YaST4Debian etc...
A recent version of KInternet (available via YaST, apt-get, urpmi, yum, etc...)
A working connection to your router /access point with an ethernet cable or the like.

3. Getting started:

This guide is written with KDE users in mind, but should work for other as well.
Also i presume that you have got the root password. Not that you're logged in as root, but that you've got the root password, because we're gonna need that to configure the network.

Alright, let's get going:

First, run KInternet and right click the KInternet icon, thus bringing up the menu . Go to Settings>Various Settings>Start-up> and make sure that
