Description:
|
911 page book covering Red Hat, Mandrake, SuSe,Debian, Caldera, Slackware and TurboLinux including a Red Hat installation DVD-ROM. This book originally sold for 50 US$, which I picked up a couple of years ago in England for £9. Whilst there is a lot of useful information I had insuperable problems with installing Red Hat from the DVD. Under Windows XP and DOS 5 the "dosutils" and "image" directories were not accessible. Windows 98 SE worked ok. However, the "boot.img" was too large to fit onto a 1.44MB floppy, so I couldn't get Red Hat up and running. Presumably, this book was intended only for the US market where 2.88 FD drives are available.
