I could not install the product; the system broke down with X window installing???.
But as i am practically new with Linux I am still impressed by the documentation, especially the Reference Manual. It is far more useful to me than the Suse 9.3 books or a Dutch manual 610 page manual for Linux systemcontrollers. (I was a technical writer for 20 years but retired in 1987.)
Yesterday I tried Powerpack 2006 on my system. Installed just fine and most things worked out of box.
But on my 1,6GHz dual core with 2gigs of ram I would suspect to have a fast OS-but NOT with Mandriva. It took 4 seconds to open Firefox and 5 seconds to open OOo-are you for real (yes I actually measured the time because I didn't believe how SLOW it was). It's like I installed it on a 166MHz with 32 megs ram.
It looks polished and everithyng, very user friendly (even for me-the n00b).
But if you want to have a fast system with no bloat, this is not the place to look.
Hope they changed that in 2007 release.
