Description: "This is an improved version of the successful Slacko 5.5. The biggest enhancement in this version is full support of the f2fs filesystem. Slacko 5.6 has many improvements due to the heavy development of the Woof build system and the many bugfixes to the Slacko base packages (independent from Woof). Lots of packages have been updated for the 5.6 series including but not limited to the following: improved SFS Manager, Updates Manager, improved graphics support, updated ffmpeg-2.0 and supporting programs including Pmusic and Mplayer, Abiword-2.9.4 and geany-1.23.1, Sylpheed-3.3.0, Firefox ESR, plus many other updated programs. Slacko 5.6 is available with a choice of kernels, 3.4.52 (with f2fs patch) compiled for processors that do not support PAE, and 3.10.5 for processors that do."
Keywords: f2fs-support kernel-3.4.52 kernel-3.10.5

Late review as I have moved on to SlackO 5.7 ,exe

I ran 5.6 .exe on my Compaq
CQ 57 for about a year before upgrading to 5.7.

Install was just a Mouse click and answer a question about installing grub. Just say yes if installing what I did.

You will get a Windows 7 and a SlackO 5.6 choice to boot on a boot screen after powering on.

Uninstall is done through add/remove programs.
This kind of install can be compared to a Ubuntu wubi
install. It is a good way to get your feet wet if a first
time Linux user.

In the year I ran it. No problems. All hardware worked.
No troubles to report what so ever.

Salix repositorys in SlackO 5.6 and SlackO 5.7 worked out very well for me with no hiccups.

I highly recommend this.
