Description: "Today I would like to announce that we are officially forked. This means that we are now a self-contained, self-hosted distribution. Fuduntu is now built from Fuduntu repositories, and we only pull from Fuduntu repositories by default. I am also pleased to announce the early release of Fuduntu 14.12 to commemorate our anniversary. Fuduntu 14.12 is our first release media built from Fuduntu repositories without any external dependencies. Major changes in this release: Linux kernel 3.0.7, X.Org Server 1.11.1, Flash 11, Remmina is now the default remote access software replacing Vinagre. As always, Fuduntu 14.12 includes a roll-up of all package changes since 14.11."
Keywords: Fedora-based kernel-3.0.7 Remmina

Pros: simple and reliable
Cons: small repository

Now the separation from Fedora is complete, the range of programs available is quite small: if you need an email client, let’s hope you like Thunderbird. But this will obviously change with time.

Independence has also created a slight problem with the gpk software installer. This organises programs in categories, but the Fuduntu repository doesn’t use them. If you click on Office, you will be told there’s nothing available! The installer can only be used in search mode: search for ‘word processor’ and you have a choice of LibreOffice or Abiword.

Other than the independent repository, and the various updates, this version is much the same as the last: a very nice, if small, distro. I’d particularly recommend this for a beginner who just needs basic computer facilities.
