Pros:
gets debian installed with less headaches than the woody install
Cons:
for newbis, still have to install basic stuff to get a gui like kde, xfree86, etc
was using slackware solid for the past year but always wanted to try debian, but the installer and number of cd's always daunted me. then a couple of months ago i stumbled back to debian and found the beta installer.
downloaded beta 4 and proceeded to install debian and was very surprised. the install was ok, could be cleaned up a bit with a little more info on what you are doing on certain screens, but everything went off without a hitch. it took me a couple of times to get it right the way i wanted it, but once i did, i ran apt-get and upgraded and got all the packages i needed.
i even changed my sources.list file to grab the unstable (sid) packages, so now i run sid and have not had any problems at all. internet, network, cd-burning, firefox, thunderbird, kde3.2.2, xfree86, and others, all work fine. i have never been happier with a linux distro (i have tried them all seems like :o)) and will stay with debian for life!
