Description: "Red Hat, Inc. today announced the global availability of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.3, featuring the latest open source, commercial-strength technology innovations. In the third update to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, customers will receive a wide range of enhancements, including significantly increased virtualization scalability, expanded hardware platform support and incorporation of OpenJDK Java technologies. Customers with a Red Hat Enterprise Linux subscription will receive the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.3 update, which is available for immediate download from Red Hat Network." Read the formal press release and the detailed release notes for more information. Existing RHEL customers can download the updates or the updated ISO images from Red Hat Networks, while new customers can download a 30-day trial edition from the RHEL Evaluation Program page after filling in a registration form.

Yes why not...Redhat Entrprise linux 5.3 is good one.

I would like o mark it 8 out of 10...for all the new features
that this version has have.

Pros: Excellent support for RHN registered members
Cons: NO support for unregistered free consumers


Well RHEL 5.3 is primarily designed to be worked upon servers
or workstation. This is why it's official support is not free.
If you are planning for a linux workstation then Red Hat is no doubt best choice.

But if you want to work on linux just for fun or casual household work then don't ever think about it. Because you don't get support, if you are working unregistered on Red Hat

There are many great distros for desktop computers, some of them are :- Fedora, Ubuntu, OpenSuse
