Description: Tried installation on a HP DV5215US laptop with an AMD Turion, 15.4 inch display with ATI Radeon video card.

Could not get past the X-org. No display, no matter what I tried. Not surprised, as I have never had any luck getting any Gentoo based distro running on any laptop or desktop unit. Sabayon looks like it may have promise, but will need to let Gentoo go before I'll bother again.

Pros: Excellent at hardware detection

Sabayon falls in the breed of the distros which are coming out of nowhere to deliver killer punch. Finally developers are understanding what ordinary users want.

The only distro which worked completely out of the box on my Acer aspire 4520. True to the Italian tradition this is also one of the best looking distros in Linux world (in my opinion). If your are a Gnome fan then your will be disappointed as the default desktop is KDE. Applications are(including the ones that you will never need in your life) packed in tonnes.

Good at hardware detection, potent live CD, lots of pre-bundled apps, enormous eye candy. What else you are looking for???

A must install if you are frustrated with the likes of Fedoras, Suses, Mandrivas etc.A good start up distro for beginners. This distro will have one bright future, may leave Gentoo behind. Remember what Ubuntu did to Debian???
