Freespire is the free (as in cost) operating system from Linspire. I found hardware support to be great with Freespire, thanks to having proprietary drivers. It even has wireless support for many of the tough wi-fi cards; like the Broadcom 4318 . The default desktop is KDE, and the package system is .deb. CNR is included for free with many applications to install, with one click install. My only gripe about the system is that the database in CNR is not very updated. Hopefully this will change when the database is synced with Ubuntu's.
