Pros: Good structured layout of problems and solutions, Good for beginners to advanced programmers
Cons:

Firstly, this book is structured into chapters which address a specific area of PHP and problems associated, for example there are chapters on number handling, strings, arrays, PEAR and PHP-GTK, just to name a few! It contains around 250 problems and solutions.

This book is extremely informative. It provides the reader with solutions to many common problems and problems that they had not even thought of.

Within each section there is an outline of the problem, then the solution code and then a discussion of what the code is doing and how it functions. If some solutions demonstrate a specific function of PHP not available in an earlier version or it uses a separate library that may not be available it gives alternatives and examples about how to carry out that task without employing library/PHP specific functions. The solutions are completely detailed which makes understanding them easier.

This book is also good because you it isn't designed to be read from cover to cover, its a reference or a resource to be used to enhance you knowledge in helpful bite size chunks.

Overall this book is excellent and highly recommended for all levels of developer in PHP!
