This is a fun little distro!

Although I thought it could use better programs,
like K3B and G-house.

I'd reccomend people looking for Linux-on-the-fly to try Knopix 3.6

But that's just me, still a good distro!

Damn Small linux has improved greatly with the latest version. It is small and fast to load on a new PC and will work even in older oones. It is using basically the Knoppix hardware detection now and this is great, as we all now.

The "desktop" is based on the Fluxbox window manager. It looks really nice wiith icons. The programs that are included are all small ((obviously) but very nice! Firefox is the browser, there is a neat file manager, Siag spreadsheet, nice small wordprocessor, graphic viewers. mail program and monkey web server.

But the greatest thing about it is not realised by a lot of people.
You can use the rest of the CDs 650MB or so to add exactly what you want!

Rox filer?, GIMP? CinePaint? Mplayer, Xine?
Open Office?
Choose if you want them to be available by default or only when you need it and on a PC which can run it......

Add them to the CDRW or CDR which was writen for multisession and not closed. Add and burn. Add and burn....

Damn Sizzling Live CD.

Excellent distro to try without truly installing on your system. In this version, I did have a problem with it freezing into a black screen. To bypass this problem I unplugged my ethernet cable from my router until it booted. No problems afterward. 0.9.2 does not have this problem with my machine. Easy to install to hard drive, but I've had problems installing to a pen drive(USB). Still a nice distro for entrance into a windows box w/o the need for a password/user login.

i think its pretty good, considering i have nothing else :P

Somebody should mention that this product runs on top of Microsoft windows OS. You know what i mean if you are bright enough. Quite a good trait for a portable OS. Thumbs up for the designers
