I am using GeeXboX as a home entertainment system on a 200gb hard drive on a Shuttle box. It is very quick and is progressively getting easier to navigate. There are still functionality features that need to be worked out but that is expected since it is still at version 0.98.
GeeXboX has had very good support for every audio codec I have tried to play on it except for asf files.
