Don't waste your time or money with this incomplete guide/distrobution. You can figure out the parts of the guide that work and the rest doesn't function at all.

This is an excellent book for anybody who wants to get started with fedora core. It even comes with a free cd. It walks you step by step about how to install and how to set up you computer using gnome.

The only downside is once you have your computer set up it just ends, and you're like "um... ok it's all set up what do I do now"

All in all its a great book for somebody totally new to linux to use. Do not listen to the first post he doesnt know what he's talking about and gave absolutely no description whatsoever about whatwas wrong.

This book is great for people who are just starting out with linux as it has projects that let u actually get a feel for what is happening. I serves as a great refrence when u get something new for example i skiped the part on how to wirelessly connect ur computer because i had no need for it but when i had to change to wireless, it served as a great guide. I understand that the first post was experiencing some problems. These may have been because some of the projects that it goes through,the versions are a bit outdated. also the part on the command line is a bit shy as it goes through the bare essentials and nothing else. It would be nice if it had gone through some more commands.

I found it mostly very informative, non-threating and easy to understand. There are a few areas that need improvement, great if migrating from Windows.
