"The team is proud to announce the release of Snowlinux 4 Xfce and E17. Snowlinux 4 Xfce is based upon Debian GNU/Linux 7.0 'Wheezy' and uses Linux kernel 3.5. Snowlinux 4 Xfce and E17 are available in two ISO images. The Xfce edition contains Xfce 4.10 and the E17 edition contains Enlightenment 0.17. While the Xfce edition fits on a CD, the E17 edition doesn't. Both use Firefox, Thunderbird, AbiWord, Shotwell and Pidgin by default. New features: LightDM; Snowlinux LightDM greeter; Snowlinux Plymouth theme; improved Snowlinux Metal theme and icons; SnowMount; Firefox 17; Thunderbird 17; Snowlinux HD backgrounds; updated software; improved speed and response; system improvements."

Xfce version is verygood
but avoid E17
The Xfce version of Snowlinux Glacier is obviously similar to the Mate version, so most of my comments on that are still relevant.
The only change in software is the replacement of LibreOffice by Abiword (with dictionaries). Xfce was fine, and Thunar had an Ďopen as administratorí option. The firewall manager (gufw) is not in the menu, although it is installed.
This is a good choice for Xfce users. If you need encryption, then you need Mint, but otherwise Snow is better. Salix and Vector are easier to configure, but Snow has a larger repository. Saline has the configuration tools and software, but is less frequently updated.
The Enlightenment version was a different story. The live disk wanted me to log in. The release notes said the user name was snowlinux and the password live. That didnít work. Someone had already complained about the same problem, and been told to go to tty1 and relaunch lightdm. That didít work. I tried resetting the password, but that didnít work either. At that point I ran out of ideas and patience, so I canít tell you about E17.
