ZevenOS has not changed greatly since version 4, so I shan’t repeat what I said in my last review.
The installation disk has the current Ubuntu bug of not using a default video driver when necessary: if it just flashes at you, edit the command line (F6) and add xforcevesa. The installer is still Ubiquity, but with a very bad design change: use carefully. The full horror story of my experience with it is here:

The software includes Firefox (with Flash), Claws mail, Pidgin, Gimp, Inkscape, Shotwell, Audacity, Gnome-mplayer, DeaDBeef, Openshot, Abiword, Gnumeric, and the media codecs. Gnome-mplayer is still broken, but everything else is fine. Despite a few problems, this is still a good option for Xfce fans.
