This is the one Linux disk that no-one should be without. It simply has all the tools you need to recover from disasters, whether in Linux or Windows: memory testing, virus and root-kit detection, filing-system repair, deleted-file recovery, backup. You also get Firefox, set to take you straight to the SystemRescue help pages. All this will run in no more than 192MB, or 256 if you choose to copy to RAM to release the drive for making backups. It starts in console mode, and you launch the Xfce desktop (if required) with ‘startx’. Logging out puts you back in the console, and you reboot with ‘init 6’.
One word of warning: learn how to use it before you need it.
