Pros:
Cons: Video not working, no keyboard shortcuts

Last year’s Xfce version was rather unsatisfactory, and I hoped this would be better: it wasn’t.

My first attempt to install from within the live session merely locked up the computer, but the second, from the boot menu, succeeded.

The selection of programs is said to be based on user requests, so I shouldn’t complain about the lack of office software. There’s still no pdf viewer, but we do get a picture viewer this year. Unfortunately, other things have gone downhill: the two video players only managed to play my test files without sound. This wasn’t a hardware problem, as the music player worked. As a test of Synaptic, I tried installing the pdf viewer Zathura, which I didn’t know: it was broken.

The keyboard short-cuts are still missing, even Alt-Tab.

This is not so much a phoenix as a dead parrot.
