had this one for school and it was actually pretty good, for a school book. lots of useful info. it helped me set up my home network. a little long. but then again i get tired after half a page, otherwise it would be a 9 or 10.
this teaches you everything you need to know about the OSI model, what agency does what, how to set up the physical layer, fault tolerance, how to use IPv4 and a beginning of linux and solaris, and network security.
since IPv6 is on it's way in, it would have been nice if it would have had something on that in there, but it only made references to it.
