Pros: Fast installation, Solaris kernel is rock solid, fast network stack
Cons: software installation with apt-get is hit-or-miss, there are many broken packages.

Not as much developer support as Linux, or even the *BSD versions. Apt-get is hit-or-miss with Nexenta 2.0 repository, which is still labeled "Hardy-unstable". Apparently nobody bothered to update the repository when RC3 was rebranded as stable production 2.0. X or a window manager is not installed by default, and I couldn't get Gnome 2.26 to install on the 2.0 I use SSH to remote in to the server, which runs headless. However samba and apache installed fine, work OK, and once you get it working it is rock solid, works great.
