I use the CD, as I don't have a fast connection. installation went well in both the text and the GUI install. One new feature, is everything required for a working deskop is on disk one, so that is all you need to set up a basic box.

It recognised my hardware, even though the OS came out years before the computer. Comes with SMP kernels, good set of drivers. Also, it has more than one of each type of application, so you do get to customize a bit. Has all of the dev files. Unfortunately, it doesn't include lame or libdvdcss, so you need to get those seprately.
