Zorin and Onedrive-d

I was wondering if anyone has gotten Onedrive-d to work on Zorin? I tried and got a message that says it is not supported on Zorin. I found that odd that it isn't since Zorin is an Ubuntu based OS, as I understand it. I ended up installing Xubuntu and got Onedrive-d to work on it, but I liked Zorin better over all and might go back to it if I could get my Onedrive account to sync with Zorin.

Any help there? I would try it in a VM first before going through an install again.

according to this page, onedrive-d is

(was) still in development
unmaintained since 2014
explicitely for (X)Ubuntu

I was under the impression that it was for Linux in general, especially after reading this page. It mentions python commands for Fedora\SUSE.

somehow i knew you would get stuck on that last bit.
there's still the 2 previous points:

1) the developer admits that the software is not fully developed
2) the developer left an announcement on their web page that they would continue working on it in may 2014.
since they never removed that announcement, it implies that development came to a standstill long before may 2014.

there is, however, a new branch here: https://github.com/xybu/onedrive-d
but alas, again it says: "still under active development and the program is not yet usable".
