Virtual printer

Could someone please help me set up a virtual printer?

i need this because our printer can't work on Linux because there is no Linux driver for it.

There is a good description using the /etc/printcap file here :
http://www.digitalhermit.com/linux/printing/index.html

but there is no printcap installed for Zenwalk. If a printcap file is created how would i get cups to use it?Or is there a better way?

I'm not sure what you're trying to do. I've never heard of a
virtual printer.

It sounds like you want to have a printer in cups, even though
it won't print to a real printer. If that's the case, you can
create a PDF printer. This gives you a printer you can use in
your applications and it makes pdf files.

I don't know what packages are available for Zenwalk. Try
searching for CUPS-pdf.

Thanks for the reply.
I'm testing some .NET printing programs under mono. What i need is a Linux equivalent to a Windows XPS printer, that prints to any document. This is a virtual printer. There's lots of types for Windows but none for Linux.
I think i'm going to have to bite the bullet, and try to print from Zenwalk through the Windows pc.
