the zenwalk 4.6.1 for install do you know if it can install on a pentium 2/333mhz/384mb=mem /What are some step by step ways to go about it.
THE ZENWALK 4.4live cd just stays frozen when i run it on the pent2/333/384mb .
Now on pentium 2/533/265mb=mem zenwalk 4.4 runs fine .
Can you help or can someone give me a solution ?

it's a lot hardware dependent, it hard to tell without trying.
You might need to:
- add some booting options (noacpi, ...),
- recompile kernel to have isa support,
- ...

I have a machine very similar to yours, and Zenwalk installs fine on it. The LiveCD probably required more resources than your computer had, so just use the regular install disk. However, that disk ran fine, just pop it in and follow the rather simple installer. You might get a little hung up on the partitioning, but you can auto partition if you want.

The installer & live cd for zenwalk just stops .
The pentium 2/333mhz/384mb . zenwalk live cd stops after 3 minutes the says go to f2 verbose mode . I PRESS f2 nothing happens .
Zenwalk 4.6 (install disk )it runs in text for about 15 minutes stops in text saying :
atai: eh complete
idm_validate_partition_table ( ) : disk read failed
configured for udma/25

I believe the wrong memory sticks for the pentium 2/333 are not matched up .
example I have 128mb,pc100 & pc133 / I need pc xxxx double-sided (maybe it is pc300 memory sticks ). If you know let me know what memory sticks i need .
Also i may have to get a new cd-rw to replace my cd-rom drive .
Peace
