NetworkManager on Zenwalk?

Anybody know how to port an application to Zenwalk? I just installed 4.2 and it's nice! I tried to compile NetworkManager and it squawked about Zenwalk being an unknown distribution. It's not THAT different from other distros... I just don't have a clue as to how to proceed.

as zenwalk is mostly slackware compatible, you can:
./configure --with-distro=slackware
but as hal isn't in a basic ZW, you'll still not be able to compile it.

check on the official forum (http://support.zenwalk.org) for posts about hal.

anyway, isn't networkconfig (+ wifi-radar if wifi) enough for networking configuration (i don't know networkmanager and it's applications) ?

Hal actually compiled and installed without errors... as long as I did "./configure --disable-policy-kit". I dunno if it's working though. NetworkManager still says hal isn't installed...

Wifi-Radar is fine - until you get NetworkManager to work. NetworkManager is like wifi-radar on steroids - it takes care of ethernet connections also - by itself.

Did you ./configure --prefix=/usr ?
Also, try "locate hal" and see where it is installed and then check with ./configure --help if you can specify the location of the hal-files.

My 2 cents.

Curses... NetworkManager still won't compile.
