Smile Kernel panic error on zenwalk.....Plz help....

Hey friends,
From a couple of days, im getting this error some time when i boot my system. I really dont know why this error is comming and how to solve it.
The error comes after i c the splash screen and boot process stops then if i press F2 button, then i can c the error.
There will be some huge list of numbers(i guess hexa digits) and at last it says
"Kernel panic-Syncing: Attemped to kill init."

So what i shud do to remove this error. Btw when i reboot it again after i c this error, the system boots normally as usual.
And also my file system is Reiserfs.

Also can any body tell me which application to be installed so that i can access powerpoint files on zens XFCE apart from openoffice/koffice/staroffice. I mean is there any application similar like abiword which is btw default word processor for zenwalk.

Thanks
kumar

Maybe when you next get it to boot successfully you should run as root
#lilo
See if that makes a difference.

I'm sure there are varied responses for this, but OpenOffice would probably do the trick for you on this question.
