changing the default boot image

just a quick question.

i want to make zenwalk as the default boot image.

so when i boot up my computer i can get zenwalk started up (rather than windows being started up) while i am having coffee or something, not looking at the computer.

thanks

you can swap the 2 entries in /etc/lilo.conf and run "lilo -v" to apply changes
or add a line :
Code:
default=NAME
where NAME is Zenwalk's entry label

Do as Guth said and also change your timeout setting to timeout=300. This will change the delay before booting to 30 seconds. Thus giving you time to change your mind before it boots up.

Also as Guth said, remember to run lilo -v after you edit lilo.conf. Bad things happen if you don't!

thanks Guth and darkscot!

i added the line "default=Zenwalk" in the conf file and tried "lilo -v", but that gave an error at line such and such. so i had to restore my lilo. anyway, probably i did something wrong. but again, i was doing half-heartedly on friday night... so yeah. that may be why...

i will give another shot this weekend. maybe tomorrow if i am not too drunk.

good weekends for both of you!
