You should google for "yourmodembrand linux". Most usb modems require a bytecode to be programmed upon boot.

I did it but I,m lost . :-(
Can you tell me which are the right steps with 2.6.x kernel?
I got usr 9000 and its own drivers also got eagleusb souce but I think
they were made for 2.x.x kernel couse when I tried to compile got errors
like "no kernel source found" even if I got 2.6.x souce.

Thanks for your time

I assume you already read this: http://www.usr.com/support/9000/9000...e%20modem.html

If it's supposed to work with 2.5, it should work with 2.6 too.
Just a couple of tips:
1. Did you specify the correct path for the kernel sources?
2. Are you sure you installed the kernel sources and not only the headers?
du -s /usr/src/* should answer both questions: the sources dir is in the 200MB range
