Installing VectorLinux on an old laptop


I was thinking on putting VectorLinux on an old laptop I recently acquired and was wondering if it's okay to install version 4.0 or should I download and install an older version, like 2.0 or 2.5. The laptop has a 150 MHz CPU, 80 Megs Ram, and a 2 Gig hard drive. Thanks in advance.

Usually, the newer, the better, to a point. The newer it is, the better hardware support it has

I have an old Toshiba Tecra 500CDT =>P1 120MHz , 80MB ram , 1.2Gig HD.
I use this to "trash around with several OSes.
VL4.0 installs fine and runs faster than Win 95/98SE on it.
Need to get into this "pcmcia-thingy" though.....
