How to make my own packages

I've just managed to install Xine from source :D Now I'd like to know how to make my own packages so it is easy to install next time (or on an other machine)

Thanks

You can probably use checkinstall to make your own package. The usual procedure is:
./configure
make
checkinstall

You can get checkinstall here:

Checkinstall is included with VL 4.0
