Youtube.com = no sound


Youtube.com flash movies play video fine, but I get no sound. Solutions?

This happened to me as well. Install alsa-oss (i think??), then launch firefox using the prefix aoss firefox

That didn't work for me. I had to delete my ~/.macromedia directory. Then don't touch the broken volume control slider on any youtube video or sound goes away again. Some stupid updates they did to their flash code has broken youtube for all Linux users.

Yes, I tried the aoss firefox after installing the alsa-oss package. Still no good.

Deleting the .macromedia folder worked!!!! Thank you, ylikone!

Linux users are stuck using version 7!

Looks like Youtube has fixed this bug! Now to get to emailing adobe to push the Linux version of flash 9.

Good luck! I don't think Adobe will care. They'll probably give us Flash version 9 in 2008.

Good to hear Youtube is fixed! Yay!!
