xubuntu in usb

Hi have u ever trying installing xfce in usb flash disk? I want to try it but i have some questions and perhaps u know the answers
a)Is a 2 Gb flash disk enough?
b)Can u store files in the usb disk after xfce is installed? (ex homework)
c)Can u upgrade packages and save changes to config files?(ex. customization of desktop)
d)Is the distro much faster than the xfce live cd-dvd version?
e)I am thinking of bying of a 30mb/sec read and 10mb/sec write flash disk. Do u think it will suffice?
Thx in advance

Have a look at pendrivelinux.com, probably at http://www.pendrivelinux.com/index.php?s=xubuntu

To have things store on the USB stick you are looking for a "Persistent" install. ---If you do not use a persistent install the USB will just act like a LiveCD.

Use any Ubuntu 8.10 livecd and make a xubuntu usb with usb creator in the system menu...."create a usb startup disk.

It can also make it "persistent"

Note-before or after putting Xubuntu on USB-you should probably make the USB have two partitions-sdf1/sdf2 cause it might have an issue recognizing the partition it boots from.

Your USB should be FAT32 for USB creator.
You must have the xubuntu iso image on the ubuntu810 livecd desktop if possible or accessible thru your HD.

Thx for the reply plz help me clarify the following
"Use any Ubuntu 8.10 livecd and make a xubuntu usb with usb creator in the system menu" Is it possible to use xubuntu live cd?

"Note-before or after putting Xubuntu on USB-you should probably make the USB have two partitions-sdf1/sdf2 cause it might have an issue recognizing the partition it boots from." Why is that needed? Why 1 partition is not enough for booting?

Also i didnt understand a word from the following text "Note-before or after putting Xubuntu on USB-you should probably make the USB have two partitions-sdf1/sdf2 cause it might have an issue recognizing the partition it boots from."

OK-Yes you should be able to use Xubuntu livecd to install to USB-maybe.

One partition is enough for booting-But you might find that you cannot access that one partition from within Xubuntu that you install to USB.
