Wubi 64 on Vista 32?
Can I run Ubuntu 64 useing wubi on my Vista 32 or do I have to use the 32 bit version? What is the difrence between a dual boot with a partition and useing Wubi, other then the windows installer and not createing a partition?

You can only run 64 bit Ubuntu on 64bit hardware. But 64 bit hardware can run 32bit or 64bit distros.
Dual boot means a seperate partition is created and the distro is installed there. You there is a boot manager that allows you to select what you installed. For Wubi I never used it but reviewing it apparently is like dual boot but it installs to a directory on existing partition. But it is a full version that is not running in a virtual environment like vmware or others do. Brian |
Yes, you can use either 64-bit or 32-bit Ubuntu with WUbi. Look here:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WubiGuide Most versions of Linux use LILO or Grub, which expect to bootstrap themselves (directly from the MBR), then boot either Windows (on a Windows partition) or Linux (on a Linux partition). Quote:

My system is a 64 bit system. Is wubi a emulation if so then would have to run the 32 bit on my vista 32 bit. The question has to do with wubi not 32 bit versus 64 bit becuse I know the difrence.

If the hardware is 64bit then you can install 64bit Ubuntu. Even with Wubi and using Vista 32bit.
