Windows open behind others, how do you change this?

On my Ubuntu Edgy, whenever i open something, like terminal, or any other program, they open behind the current one, as opposed to how the default where when u open something it pops up at you. This is annoying cuz i open things nd i wait for them, ne their openned already, so how do youchange this back??

How window focus is changed is a Linux parameter. For example click for focus is the default. You can however set focus to change on hovering. I looked through system administration and preferences and didn't see where to change this. I'd check out the configuration editor which gives more complete coverage of system parameters. apps-> metacity-> general-> then check focus_mode, mine is click, and focus_new_windows, mine is set to smart.
