window 7 not booting with ubuntu 10.04 LTS
I have installed ubuntu 10.04LTS along with windows 7. but during startup when i select window 7's entry in grub my computer restarts.
i have tried update-grub but nothing changes.

You might need to configure Grub2 bootloader.
Here is a tutorial for Grub2.
Some friends who had difficulty in configuring Grub2 my advise was to remove Grub2 and install Grub (the original, legacy), in that manner they found it easier with the same power Grub2 offers.
Sort of reminder: If you plan to recover Windows 7 mbr using its Recovery Console back up the current mbr first, under linux using 'dd' command.

well i read ur tutorial's "Dual boot: Windows 7 and Ubuntu" but i think i did was same as u have said.
the only thing was that ubuntu10.04 already have grub2 so i didnt changed it and grub.cfg show "Windows 7 (loader) (on /dev/sda1)" rather than windows vista (loader).
is there any other way to correct this problem other than installing Grub (the original, legacy)
