Why system time changes?

Hi guys, I recently installed Ubuntu along with my WinXP partition. Now everytime I start my PC with Ubuntu sometimes I get the wrong time, I change the clock to the right time, but when I go to the Win partition I get the wrong time also and lets say I go back and log into my Linux partition the same problem occurs! Is there a fix for this??

Thanks..

I had this same problem a while back using gentoo and winxp.

You probably have your system setup to use Universal Coordinated Time, but Win XP is expecting local time. Everytime you login to Ubuntu it's going to change your hardware clock based on some internet time server. If you change your Ubuntu to use local time, you should be all set.
Unfortunately I only know how to do this for gentoo.

i just wasted a lot of time giving an answer in your other thread on the same subject, saying basically the same thing geeman just said here. you really shouldn't double post. :(

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
