Why no NAME?


Hi,

Ubuntu is the first *nix that I found that doesn't have the NAME environment variable:

Code:
$ env | grep ^NAME || echo no found
no found
Anybody knows why?

Never heard of it. What is it supposed to do? Do you mean LOGNAME?
