Why is my Ubuntu Software Center not opening?

I run an Ubuntu 9.10 and I was trying to upgrade to Ubuntu 10.04 but due to poor network connection I canceled the upgrading process. Since then my Ubuntu Software Center refuses to start.

NEVER kill the upgrade process. That will CORRUPT your software, due to partial installation!

This may be an APT repository issue, and if so, try this (in a terminal):

Code:
$ sudo apt-get update --fix-missing
