This question is for the Solaris 10 zone/container guru's.

Looking for virtual s/w for Ubuntu:

My job that puts the peanut-butter in my fridge has me knee deep, daily, in Solaris Zones. Literally I manage 100's of them, so I'm pretty well versed in MANY aspects of those, pools, resource mgmt, detaching, attaching, ZFS'ed, etc... Done pretty much all of it.

Q: Is there anyone else in my [Solaris 10] shoes that has used x86_64 bit Ubuntu 8.04.1 LTS Server with LXC, OpenVZ and/or VirtualBox in some cases, or any other virtualizing S/W I did not list?

Not too interested in Xen, seems overkill for what I want to do at home anyway.

Probably, max 3 or 4 zones would be needed.

Which is more stable? Which is easy(ier) to compile without the [dependency depression loop]? Any good, ready made 64 bit binaries/pkgs?

I'm currently running x86_64 Solaris 10 and CentOS 3.8 (Final) in an lx branded zone. But Zimbra Collaboration Suite (ZCS) is not supported on this verions of CentOS.

My intention is somehow to get ZCS running in a virtual machine. VirtualBox did not work out, I could not get ZCS installed, the virtual machine would just crash, no error messages anywhere. Both 32 & 64 bit did the same.

I'm considering KVM, as my current server H/W does support virtualizion, but I'm loath to move away from x86 Solaris, I mean my uptime is over 3 months without a reboot -- Solaris is just so rock solid.

There is experimental support for Centos 4 & 5 with Brandz.
