Question Which Edgy Version to upgrade 6.06 Pentium D

I have a EM64T Pentium D Processor.I am currently running a Kubuntu 6.06 LTS i386. I want to know if I can use the AMD64 Alternate CD to upgrade to 6.10 64 bit with SMP support. If not please tell me how to get the 64 bit SMP Version.I really don't want to recompile the kernel as I am a newbie.Thank You

I would suggest you backup your /home and wipe the drive. Then install Ubuntu Edgy 64-bit.
