What programms to use for smartphones to sync between phone and desktop?

Hello,

Im using a O2 smartphone, What programms can i use on ubuntu-5.10 to synchronise my mobile phones with my desktop and also like transferring of data to and fro a desktop?

If you know of such apps pls let me know.

btw im using gnome as my window manager!

You could try gammu and its graphical frontend wammu for the beginning. Should be good enough for phonebooks and file transfers, if your phone is supported.
