What makes Ubuntu different from other distros of Linux? What are its advantages and disadvantages?

+ easy to setup, GUI orientated

Other than that...

Pros: It has fairly good hardware detection, easy install, sets up X, uses apt-get for package management, and only requires one pc.
Cons: No ability to play dvds and mp3s out of the box (all though it easy to add on), cant customize the install.
