VNC: Connecting from Windows to Ubuntu not working

I installed vncserver on my ubuntu 6.10 64-bit.

I typed:

vncserver :1

It creates a new vncserver

I then type vncpasswd

I have a vnc password

I go to my windows box using TightVNC and Ultravnc

Connect to it:
192.168.0.2:1

"Could not connect to server"

there are NO firewalls running

Here's what my 192.168.0.2:1.log file says:
Couldn't open RGB_DB '/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb'

Why does Ubuntu make something so simple so difficult?

To make sure there is a connection, can you ping your Win box?

I don't think it's Ubuntu's fault, I think it's the way VNC is set up.

Yes, I can ping both computers fine.

I'm not sure why VNC doesn't work with Ubuntu easily. I have a CentOS box and VNC runs right out of the box. I know it's a security risk, but I thought a simple apt-get install vncserver would do the trick.

I will check out those resources. Thanks
